I was lucky enough to spend all of last week on holiday in beautiful Tuscany, Italy. If you've ever been there you will know how the area is steeped in history. Cities like Florence and Siena are like fabulous outdoor museums with churches and 'palazzos' around every corner (as well as gelaterias and equally mouth-watering bag and shoe shops).

I didn't have much time for treasure hunting (too busy eating, drinking and catching up with my mum and sister who joined us on the trip!), but did find a great little shop in sunny Siena I wanted to tell you about: Aloe & Wolf.

Hidden away in one of the charming side streets off Piazza del Campo, this little vintage shop is packed with the most fabulous treasures from the 50s, 60s and 70s - although mostly clothing rather than home decor. I am not a great vintage fashionista (I often find the clothes are sort of just not 'it'), but I tell you, Italian vintage clothing is something else! Glamourous, well fitting and great-looking.

The shop also sells handmade, 'upcycled' designer bags by 2Periodico, a lady in Rome, and guess what: I bought one. Re-using pages out of vintage fashion magazines, covering them with plastic and combining them with recycled pieces of soft Italian leather, these funky bags were just to much of a temptation...

If you need a great place to stay in Tuscany, I can thoroughly recommend Borgo San Benedetto, a country resort, hidden away to ensure rest and relaxation, but well placed between all the big and small tourist spots too. Lovely apartments, bed and breakfast, pool and a fabulous restaurant on site too. And yes, that cute guy on their homepage is real - I've seen him with my own two eyes ;-).

Day 2 of 14 with this awesome group giveaway!  Up today is an adorable little girls Apron with matching Chef Hat, handmade by Melanna over at Rhapsody of Cacaphony.  Check it out below...

Pink Lemonade Apron and Chef Hat
with matching Recipe Cards
A 4T (ish - it could probably fit 3T-5T quite easily since it's adjustable), easy on/off (yeah velcro!) chef hat and apron set, hand made by me. The pink fabric has little tiny polka dots on it that don't show up on camera, so I think it's even sweeter in person.

Oh and of course I had to include some matching recipe cards, because every new chef has to start her recipe collection at a very young age!

So sweet, right?!?  I am so sure that the little somebody in your life would LOVE this set!  Head on over to Rhapsody of Cacophony to enter.

Also, if you missed out on day1, there is still time to enter...check it out here.

To enter, hop over to my blog Rhapsody of Cacophony. Good luck!

These paint updates were simple and only took a few hours to complete. The spindles sold the day after I posted pictures of them on our Facebook page. The sweet lady that bought the four spindles plans to repurpose them into part of a swinging bed her husband is building. I think it's a wonderful idea to make your own version of a swinging porch bed because I've seen them sell for as much as $1,200 at market. Maybe I'll add that project to my ever growing list of things to make. I can't wait to see how the swing bed turns out.
We are heading to the beach for a long weekend get-away. I'm looking forward to relaxing and soaking up some sun. I hope you have a great weekend! Do you have anything fun planned?

I'm sharing with Free for all Friday at Sassy Sites, Flaunt it Friday at Chic on a Shoestring, Freckled Laundry, Frugal Friday at The Shabby Nest, Shine on Friday at One Artsy Mama, Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home, 504 Main, My Repurposed Life, Simple Home Life, Miss Mustard Seed, Redoux, Transformation Thursday at The Shabby Creek Cottage, Time to Shine at A Diamond in the Stuff, It's Overflowing, The Grant Life, and Feathered Nest Friday.

I'm a Southwest Native. Consequently I love Mexican Food.  Cinco De Mayo is pretty big around here, mostly for others it's an excuse to drink, but since I don't drink, it's a time to get together and have some amazing Mexican Food.
You know I'm making some of these.  My favorite!

I also love to make some fun decorations to celebrate.  This year I only spent about $3.50.  $2 for tissue paper at the dollar store, and $1.50 for ribbon from Walmart.  I haven't finished my table-scape yet, I'll share when it's done, but the wall deco is done.  Not to bad if I do say so myself.

The bunting was just little pieces of scrapbook paper cut as shown and sewn onto tiny ribbon.

I made about a eleventy-billion tissue paper flowers with the help of my friend {C}. Some smaller, some bigger, some fuller, some less full.  I like the variety.
For some reason the lighting in my kitchen is kinda bad. Sorry about that.  The Banner just says "Fiesta" about 3 times.  I used my Cricut to cut the letters.

This is the stairway. It's wrapped in ribbon, bunting and tissue paper flowers.

Remember the wreath I made here? Well I'm in a new house without a fireplace so this it how I chose to display it.
It was fun adding the bunting and flowers to it.  I love how it turned out.

Lastly the wreath on the front door.  Super easy and I think pretty cute!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!
Let's eat!
