Fashion: iris van herpen: crystallization
image: iris van herpen
local designer iris van herpen displayed her crystallization collection during amsterdam fashion week,
which included pieces design in collaboration with daniel widrig and mgx. the main piece the designers
all worked on together is a woman’s shirt which is made through computer modeling and rapid
prototyping. the form consists of shapes repeated and scaled over and over to create a single volume.
it wraps around the wearer, resting on their shoulders to allow their back to be fully exposed. computer
modeling isn’t something typically used in fashion, but the possibilities could be very interesting.
