Your response to the Loft Bedroom was overwhelming!  I'm so glad that so many people were inspired by the space.  But there are some great things about the space that I haven't shared yet...so I'm going to remedy that situation starting today.




Since the loft bedroom is in the loft (unexpected, right?) we had to come up with a way to give the space some privacy.

I thought of simply using a

You may recall that the idea for turning the loft space into a bedroom space occurred to me several months ago when Boy One was pining for a room of his own.  But

We're in the final stretch on the loft bedroom.

I picked up a few more items last week from one of my favorite stores (can you tell which one from this photo?)




This is the part of putting together a room that I love the most...styling it.  Finalizing the fabrics, picking out the accessories.  Seeing the vision that was in my head come to life.

I'm jumping right from Valentine's Day posts to spring.  This winter has been one of the coldest and snowiest in a long time here in Utah.  I love snow.  I do.  But a girl can only take so many snowy, foggy, smoggy days before it starts to wear on her. 







It was in the forties here last week, and I honestly thought it felt like spring.  I am soooo ready for spring.  I am anxiously waiting

Last week I shared a few sneak peeks of how we updated our kitchen. If you recall, since we live in a rental, we can't change the cabinetry or the counter tops. But ever since I upholstered my bar stools, I have been itching to spruce up the rest of the kitchen as well.

It's no secret that we rent our home. I've mentioned it many times on the blog.  And I've also mentioned that our landlords have been very generous in allowing us to make changes like painting, "drawing" on the entry wall,  and even adding board and batten to the kid's bathroom.

One thing we can't change, however, are the finishes in the kitchen.  And although the kitchen isn't bad...it's not

I've been working on the loft bedroom, and we're getting close to finishing it. All it needs now is to be styled! So there is a big reveal on the horizon, but today, I wanted to share with you all how I altered an existing foam mattress to fit the custom-sized "built-in" bed.





The mattress was previously used on the trundle bed in the boys' room.  And it is just foam (no wood or coils) which

Well, on Saturday, my Papa delivered the bed! It wasn't completely finished...it still needed to be sanded, primed and painted - but I am more than happy to do that part since he so

I mentioned in my post on Boys' Space Inspiration last week, that we are in the process of turning my loft home office into a bedroom for my oldest boy.  The loft is on the small-ish side, so we needed to think creatively in the area of space management.  After studying the space (and measuring it about 100 times) I decided that creating a "built-in" bed was the best option.
