Chevron Fabric Pumpkin

My friends and I got together the other day to have a chance to catch up and actually create something we've pinned if we wanted to do so.

I was inspired by Sarah at Alderberry Hill to create a fabric covered pumpkin. She has a great tutorial that you can follow by clicking on her link. I had already gotten a couple pumpkins at the dollar store, so I was excited to try it out.

I had picked up some orange chevron fabric from Joann's the other day, so I decided to use it for this project. I simply cut the fabric into strips and used the Mod Podge for fabric to attach it to the pumpkin.

Then I added some simple buttons around the top to give it a little something extra. It was an inexpensive project costing around $4.00 with the pumpkin, buttons and fabric all together. Thank you for stopping by!

Decorate For Halloween With Solar Lights!

Plastic Bag Stuffed Pumpkins

I found a pumpkin on Pottery Barn's website the other day that I really liked. It was around $20 for a small one, so I decided to be inspired to make something similar myself. I used materials that were leftover from other projects, and so I didn't have to spend any money on this project. Here are the materials that I used - plastic grocery bags, fabric, jute twine and some burlap.

I began by taking several grocery bags and stuffing them into one making a circular shape.

Then I cut a rectangle out of the leftover canvas fabric that I had from our mudroom project. I wrapped the fabric around the bag.

Then I took twine and wrapped it around the shape to make the indentations that a pumpkin has and it also was securing the fabric.

Finally I used some burlap to roll up and make a stem. I simply tucked it under the jute twine to secure it. I ended up making two, and I am excited that it was a quick and easy project for fall.
