I don't know everything about blogging, but I'm pretty sure that 2 posts in a year doesn't cut it.  That's changing today (and not just because this technically makes it 3).

ReclaimedWreckage.Blogspot.com is going to become the re-recycled home of all things DIY projects and RW updates.

Here's a sample of what's been going on...

Colorfest 2012

Skydiving

Sand Diving in Moab

Mexican Cruise with my sister Colleen

Boston's new "friend" Milo

My first drawing in my first art class

Libby (My Jeep Liberty) broke 200,000 Miles...

...And started breaking down.  We fixed her, because that's what we do.  (More to come on changing your own brakes, rebuilding calipers, changing your oil, replacing spark plugs, and fixing the Ignition sensor in your steering column.)

I did a cleanse where I drank a few gallons of apple juice to support my sister Tammy.  I now hate Apple Juice.

School, Kids, Studio moving, Equipment failing, Vehicles breaking down, traveling... Still kicking ass

So there you have it.  From jumping out of planes and into a relationship the past several months has been amazing, and it's only going to get better from here.  Tomorrow I'll tell you more about that "Partner" I kept bringing up and our latest at home project.

A thank you to my customers

I was telling my friend the other day, “I don’t have the luxury of falling apart right now.” Honestly, sometimes I feel so unbelievably overwhelmed with midterms, divorce court, and work. But when things get hard, that’s when you really realize how strong you can be. I was so afraid to leave my husband and thought for sure that Reclaimed Wreckage wouldn’t have the means to support us…. I was wrong…… and it’s only going to get better.

I just wanted to sincerely thank everyone for your support. I have the best customers, family, friends, and have come into contact with some of the most amazing people. I’ve been told countless times (especially by my ex) to quit Reclaimed Wreckage and get a “real job” but every time I get feedback from you guys or emails from repeat customers, I don’t think quitting is an option. Thanks. Seriously. When I include that paper that’s basically a huge, long “thank you” in your packages, I mean it. Your support in my work will NEVER go unappreciated. You make this all possible.

► The process of making each bag first starts with sourcing the materials. When a facility can not repair an inner tube, they donate it to Reclaimed Wreckage for recycling. I clean, disinfect, manufacture and draft each pattern for a completely unique finished product.

► I use as many reclaimed components as I can in each bag, including the linings, and any hardware used. Every bag is One-of-a-kind because of the vintage materials used. You may see small imperfections and wearing caused from the original material. This is part of the charm of the designs and adds to the fact that your bag has a history previous to you owning it! It's a great way to help to support sustainable approaches.

► Every bag is handmade by me, in my studio, in Salt Lake City, Utah :)
