Erotokritos Antoniadis, named after the main protagonist of medieval epic poem, a hero “born from the labors of love”. For 15 years, his label EROTOKRITOS has been seducing women of all ages, drawn to collections that go back and forth between the sophistication of Paris and the dolce vita of Cyprus.
Monsieur Chypre - A Short Film With Erotokritos from AntoineAsseraf+RenéHabermacher on Vimeo.

“THEY CALL HIM MONSIEUR CHYPRE”

France and Cyprus, Paris and Nicosia, it’s a long-distance love affair.
In Erotokritos's epic fashion story Monsieur Chypre, by directors Antoine Asseraf & René Habermacher, they come to life: Loan Chabanol, channeling the nostalgia of Marguerite Duras’ The Lover, plays the tormented Parisian woman, cracking at the surface, while my beloved illustrator and screenwriter Constantino Kouyialis, in his first first on-screen role, plays the seductive eponym hero, a modern day Alexis Zorbas.

The fashion film 10 months in the making, taking place not only in Paris but in numerous locations in Nicosia, in the salt lake facing the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque in Larnaca, in the Almyra and Anassa deluxe hotels, in small taverns by the side of the road, or in the majestic monument carved directed in the stone, the tomb of the Kings in Paphos. All this, to the original soundtrack of Lori Schonberg and Shane Aspegren, members of Ça Va Chéri(Download it here).

Here are some beautiful stills from the short film and below some downloadable goodies from Mon. Chypre.

I love, love, love the naughty and flirty Jean Paul x Diet coke campaign, which follows the theme of 'Day & Night'. Night is symbolized by the rock chic leather and lace girl, while Day shows JP's familiar nautical striped look. Of course his trademark corset makes a sexy appearance too. What I really love about the campaign though is the playful art direction, where JP's face is used by models to cover their faces, but they are posing in ultra-feminine poses with sexy, shapely clothing.

After Day & Night, in summer 2012, they also launched the third bottle with the corseted, tatted pin-up girl. I repeat, love, love, love!!

A Cinemagraph is an image that contains within itself a living moment that allows a glimpse of time to be experienced and preserved endlessly. A moving photographs in plain words to you and me. Graphic designer Kevin Burg  and photographer Jamie Beck take a traditional photographs and combine a living moment into the image through the isolated animation of multiple frames (GIFs). Beck and Burg named the process "Cinemagraphs" for their cinematic quality while maintaining at its soul the principles of traditional photography. Here's a few of their fashion editorial cinemagraphs, you can view more on their site. Would be interesting to see these make their way into e-magazines and e-books, but also in an exhibition space (?!). With smartphones and tablets, we've become so used to motion and technology, could this be the future of photography?
In a behind-the-scenes documentary setting, these images below give you a glimpse of the New York Fashion Week hustle, and also making-of photos at Dogfish Head brewery. These moving GIF files really act as small stories as opposed to just one captured still and add a new dimension to a company profile on a website or accompanying an article on a site.

“The Spirit of Galatea” is a beautiful under-water shoot by Ilse Moore for Joel Janse van Vuuren, a fashion designer from South Africa. I'm so proud to be South African at times like these. The SA fashion industry is unique and inspiring, taking many elements of nature and bold fresh colours. It doesn't compare to Milan, Paris, New York or Tokyo....it's Proudly South African ;)

I've gone and done it again. Not posted for aaages because I've been preoccupied and busy with work, and hustling. So here is what I did last week...I made new clutches for my ReMade collection. I'm so proud, because they really are lovely, cool and edgy! This is the look of urban fashion, no more of that leather, overpriced and pleather, bad quality bag(gage). ReMade clutches are sassy, sexy and fresh. Perfect for everyday or a night out. These are water resistant, durable, and the best part - each of them are unique and no two are ever alike.

You can get them on my Etsy shop.
